Wedding Gowns Guide| Learn the Silhouettes

Wedding Gowns Guide| Learn the Silhouettes

Shopping for wedding gown may not be as simple as most of us think.  Where do you begin from if you have no idea that there are many types of wedding gowns?  The desire of every bride to be is to be breathtaking when she shows up for her wedding.  Aside that we will always beam with smiles and our beautiful bridal train, we want our gowns to do the talking.

We have body types that differ which are the more reason why we should take our time in making our wedding gown shopping. Do not think that because your friend or a model’s wedding gown was amazing, so will it be on you.

Wedding gowns have silhouettes according to body types:

The Ballgown:

The ballgown is the fairy tale gown that comes with flairs at the waist along with a full skirt and a fitted bodice. This is perfect for those with pear body shape because it masks the lower body. It is not great for petites because the skirt is overwhelming on their small frame.

A-Line:

A-Line wedding gown is ideal for every body type. It comes with fitted bodies through the bride’s waist and then flows freely to the ground, taking the shape of an uppercase A.

The Trumpet:

The trumpet is fitted through a bride’s body and the fairs are mid-thigh.  The style is between the mermaid and a modified a-line cut. It is ideal for people with small waists such as petites, banana and hourglass.  It is also great for apples and pears as it accentuates the hip area and stomach.

The Mermaid:

The mermaid wedding gowns are fitted on the body beginning from the bride’s chest down to the knees.  It flares out close to the wearer’s knee. The gown is perfect for those with hourglass and slender frames body types who are ready to show off the curves. However, it is not great for those with plus size body and apple shapes.

The Sheath:

The sheath comes with a narrow shape that is seen flowing straight down from the bride’s neckline down to the hem. It is great for women with lean frames such as bananas and petites.  It is also great on hourglass shapes who want to show off their curves but not for pears.

The Tea-Length:

The skirts are seen falling between the bride’s ankle and knees, and perfect for everyone.

The Mini:

The Mini falls above the bride’s knees. It is not for those with plus size body shape but great for bananas.
