Steps On How To Tie The Perfect Turban Headscarf

Steps On How To Tie The Perfect Turban Headscarf

A turban is traditional headwear that can be worn by both men and women commonly in North Africa and South Asia.

Not only is it the most preferred choice during hot days of summer, but it is also very fashionable and will allow you to slay, look stylish and modern and be comfortable at the same time. Talk about a win-win! You don’t know how to tie a turban? Relax, this step-by-step guide will turn you into a pro overnight.

Step 1

The scarf should measure 1.5 – 1.8m of cloth in length and about 15cm in width. First, take the fabric and fold it so that it is exactly divided into two. Then, place the folded fabric at the back of your head and ensure that the ends of the cloth are held in front of your ears.

Step 2

To keep the scarf steady on your head, tie a small knot with the fabric just at the middle of your forehead. If the knot is not firm, you may tie another knot. The smaller the knot, the better. You have to ensure that it is not too massive.

Step 3

The next step is to gently twist the ends of the cloth around your head. Continuously twist until both ends of the scarf are now wrapped around your head. A hack to making your job easier is to start from the last knot tied on your forehead and then wrap the fabric layer by layer. Each layer should be in a position higher than the previous.

Step 4

Your turban is already done. Shift the scarf across your head so it fits properly and make any extra adjustments if need be. However, if you do not like all your hair being covered underneath the turban, you are free to try other creative styles, use bobby pins and leave out hairs in places of your choice.

How to Make Your Turban Look Fuller

If you require a more voluminous look to your turban, all you need to do is double the scarf or fabric to tie the turban.

To further grow creative ideas for your turban, here are more styling ideas for you:

I.) Turbans of your preferred color can also complement denim to give you that modern African princess vibe.

II.) Using a velvet turban, you can create an amazing look, which you can confidently rock on any occasion.

III.) For Ankara dresses, you can tie a plain turban, which has a glam brooch on the side.

You can see that a perfect turban headscarf can serve you in many ways. Whether you are a reserved or fun-outing person, you can make use of it to complement your outfit. Which of these designs do you like most? Tell us in the comment box below.
