The Journey Of Beret and Its Many Uses

In this modern age, berets has become an essential part of a girl dress code. It has in recent times served as a cool girl accessory.

Let’s take a look at how the Beret  came into limelight. This stylish round hat made out of wool or felt are believed to have started their existence way back in the 14th century.

According to DIS Magazine, this roundish hat was common amongst the low class society in Europe. People such as the farmers and artists were the ones who mostly put them on.

In the 1800s, during the Carlist War in Spain, the red colour berets came into play in the political sector in Spain. While the black berets served as a peasant symbol,the outlet notes.

During the 1900s, the berets still played their role in politics although people still wore them as part of their dress code.

It became common amongst movies stars, writers and poets in the 20’s. These set of people wore them because they found it chic and lovely. The berets later turn out to be a global military staple during the 40’s and 50’s.

Revolutionaries like Che Guevara and Fidel Castro adopted the Beret as part of their dress code in the 60’s.The Black Panthers adopted the journey of the berets continued to be successful as it during the 70’s.

The berets has grown famous over the past few years as celebrities keep on adopting it as part of fashion. Famous celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens and Rihanna have worn the roundish hat. Models are not left out in this as the berets were spotted on the runway at Dior and Chanel.  Even in Africa, we are not left behind in wearing berets.
